Sonya and Julian Tie The Knot - UK/Canada Style!

Every time I've been to London UK I've visited a friend from highschool, Sonya. So, when she invited me to her wedding to Julian, whom she met after she moved to London, I planned my summer trip around her wedding. When she asked if I could do the pictures for her wedding, I didn't even think to consider it - I was planning to attend, so why couldn't I take the pictures for her? I have to say, I'm still amazed at the cake - a family friend did the icing on the cake... one layer was Canadian things, one layer was British things and the bottom layer was a combo. It was a shame to have to cut it!!

Cooking - Elderberry Pie

My favourite pie that my grandma used to make was elderberry pie - not a super common flavour of pie but oh-so-good!! Elderberries are smaller than blueberries and more tart. They have that sour flavour that works so well with a sweet thick sauce. I'm planning to host a dinner party for the girls at work and I wanted to make a pie of some kind, so I found some elderberries in my freezer. (How they got there is it's own story). I googled the recipe and made my first attempt at a lattice top pie. It probably could have been prettier, but I'll get better.

And for those who are interested in the recipe I found - click here

Photo Walk - Springbank Park, London

I haven't had the inspiration to get out and shoot lately. Usually I get my camera out only when I get on a plane and go far far away. However, with borrowing a lens from work I figured I should get my use out of it. So, my roomie and I took a trip to Springbank Park here in London.

Portraits - Kelly's Boys

I met Kelly when she was my manager at the travel agency I work at. We hit it off wonderfully and became great friends. Since we met she's been wanting me to take some pictures of her two boys, Alex and Nick. Finally our schedules worked out well and we were able to get out and take some shots. We went to Stratford, where the boys were born and took some pictures along the water and the Shakespearean gardens.

Holiday Monday Picnic

It's been years since I went on a picnic, so for the holiday monday I thought it would be fun. I packed a huge lunch and we took off to Erindale park. The day was hot and sticky and after eating too much we ended up falling asleep. Not all these were taken by me, obviously, but they capture the essence of the afternoon.
